The old wishing well at the rear of Borambola Homestead still bears the thumbprints of the hands that made its bricks. Unable to sign their names, the thumbprint identified the convict and determined how much they would be paid for their work. The well was the original water source for the homestead; these artesian waters are rich in mineral flavours and carry some of the characteristics similar to those found in the Wishing Well Sauvignon Blanc.
